| New Kinesiologists Support Loaring Physiotherapy’s Extended Hours
Full-time Certified Kinesiologist and Personal Trainer, Kelly Krahn, B.Kin, CPT, joined the physiotherapy team at Loaring in March of this year. As a retired varsity wrestler, and former trainer for Brock University Rugby & Wrestling teams, Kelly is a huge asset to our team. She also joins current staff member, Larry Brun, B.HK, RMT, CPT, CSCS, in providing one-on-one personal training sessions for fitness and program development/design needs. Part-time Kinesiologist, Roburt Tranter, B.Kin, B.Ed (PE/BIO), also joined Loaring Physiotherapy’s team earlier this spring. Roburt brings in-depth experience as a personal trainer and head coach in the sports of cross-country, track & field, triathlon, canoeing/kayaking, and running. In anticipation of Roburt's return to his full-time job as a teacher this September, the Loaring Physiotherapy team is now accepting resumes for a Part-Time Kinesiologist Position (Mon to Thurs, 4-7pm). | Loaring Team to Provide Medical Services at Upcoming World Wheelchair Track Classic
The staff at Loaring Physiotherapy are honoured to be providing medical services at the upcoming Boiling Point Wheelchair Track Classic, at the University of Windsor St. Denis Centre and outdoor stadium on Saturday, July 7th. A world-class field of wheel-chair athletes have registered, including several Paralympian athletes and world-record holders from around the globe. Interested in helping out? Loaring Physiotherapy is recruiting volunteers to help out at this event, which goes from 1:00pm – 10:30pm (high profile track events start at 6:30pm). | Upcoming Community Events Sponsored by Loaring Physiotherapy
Windsor’s 2nd Annual Running From Cancer 5km, 10km, and ½ Marathon is scheduled for Sunday, July 29th. Starting from Tecumseh Arena at 7:00/8:00am, participants will run in support of the Windsor & Essex County Cancer Foundation and local Cancer Centre. Loaring Physiotherapy staff will provide voluntary medical services at the event. Also in its 2nd year is the Tim Horton's Escape From Reality Challenge in Windsor/Lasalle on Sunday, August 26th. Teams of three (male, female, and coed) will canoe, run, walk, climb, and mountain-bike their way through the surprise course, which also features 3 “mystery events”. Note that previous adventure racing experience is not needed, as 95% of teams last year competed in their first adventure event. | Loaring Triathon Breast Cancer Fund Surpasses $85 000
The 7th Loaring Triathlon was successfully held on Saturday, September 9th, 2006 on the shores of Lake Erie near Harrow. Despite some cool and damp weather, hundreds of participants, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators were present for the days festivities. All proceeds went to "The Elena Loaring Memorial Fund for Breast Cancer Research" through the University of Windsor. The Ontario Government doubled all monies received. [more] |
