LPC Training Days are designed for all fitness levels and abilities. Take part in excellent training and learning that focuses on skills and fundamentals, and leave with a smile and extra motivation.

SCHEDULE
| The 2013 Jan 6th & Feb 10th LPC Training Days will take place at Loaring Physiotherapy & Health Centre (outdoor run, exercises, nutrition seminar, and indoor bike) & Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex (triathlon-specific swim drills and open water swimming tactics). You may participate in a particular session(s), or take part in the entire Training Day. The below schedule applies for the Jan 6th and Feb 10th LPC Training Days. You must pre-register for any Training Day session. Participation is limited to 25 participants for each Training Day session. Registration is now open. Register early (Training Days in 2011 and 2012 sold out weeks in advance).

SWIM
A 90min swim session (including frequent rest breaks) will take place at Adie Knox Herman Recreation Complex at: Participants will be placed into 3 different groups (beginner, intermediate, advanced). Beginner swimmers will progress through the most basic front crawl drills. Total distance covered will range from 800m to 2500m depending on what group you take part in. Coaches James Loaring, Jeff Cowan, and Mark Linseman will provide stoke correctional feedback throughout the practice. What to Bring: |
RUN
The Run Session will begin with run-specific dynamic stretches, and then participants will perform a few running-specific drills that are appropriate for endurance runners/triathletes. What to Bring? |
EXERCISES
Charlotte Loaring (RPT) will take you through a 30min triathlon-specific exercise class, teaching you performance tricks of the trade, and helping prevent those nagging seasonal injuries. Learn why core, gluteus medius, and single-legged exercises are a worthwhile addition to any training plan, and more importantly, make sure you’re doing those exercises correctly. |
HYDRATION and NUTRITION Q & A with Coach Mark
Performance Nutrition Consultant Mark Linseman will lead a Q & A session based on questionnaire feedback about your own race-day nutrition and hydration strategies. Mark has advised countless endurance athletes, from beginner to professional, on proper race-day hydration and nutrition. There is no "one size fits all" solution to hydration and nutrition, and this session will help you discover what will work best for YOU. |
BIKE
An inspiring 90min to 120min indoor bike session will take place at Loaring Physiotherapy. A motivational DVD will keep everyone entertained while Coaches James and Mark lead the group through a ride over simulated undulating terrain. James and Mark will provide an educational component throughout the ride while discussing topics such as: natural cadence, pacing strategy, hydration strategy, nutrition strategy, climbing strategy, and target perceived exertion. The intensity and duration of the bike session will vary depending on one's fitness level and ability. Some will ride 1h upwards to 90min, while others will ride 90min upwards to 2h. |
COACHES
| Participants will have every opportunity to learn from the multi-disciplinary experience and expertise of LPC's Professional Coaches. |
